Your data, kept to a minimum.
This website sets no cookies of its own, uses no analytics or tracking, has no forms and loads nothing from other providers. This notice explains the little that is processed, under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

1Who is responsible
Academia Meets Industry Switzerland (AMI-CH), association with its seat in Basel, Switzerland. Responsible person: Lukas Beckert, President. Contact for all data protection matters: ami.ch.admin@gmail.com
2What this website does not do
- No analytics, statistics or tracking tools, and no advertising.
- No contact forms, no newsletter sign-up and no user accounts.
- No social media plugins and no embedded content from other providers. LinkedIn appears only as ordinary links.
- No fonts, scripts or images from other servers: everything is delivered from this website itself.
3Hosting and server logs
This website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) through its global network. When you open a page, your browser automatically transmits technical data, which Cloudflare records in server and security logs:
- IP address
- date and time of the request
- requested address (URL)
- browser and operating system (user agent)
- the page you came from (referrer), if your browser sends it
Cloudflare processes these data on our behalf only to deliver the website, keep it available and protect it against attacks and misuse. To tell people from automated traffic, Cloudflare may set technically necessary security cookies (for example __cf_bm or cf_clearance); they are not used for analytics or advertising. We do not keep our own copies of these logs, do not combine them with other data and do not use them to identify visitors. Cloudflare keeps log data only for a limited period, as set out in its privacy policy.
4E-mail
If you write to us, we use your name, e-mail address and the content of your message only to answer you and to handle your request. Our e-mail runs on Gmail; for users in Switzerland the provider is Google Ireland Limited, Dublin. Messages are stored on Google’s servers, which may also be in the USA.
5Disclosure abroad
Cloudflare and Google may process data in the USA and other countries where they operate. The Swiss Federal Council recognises the USA as providing adequate data protection for companies certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC take part in it. For other countries without adequate protection, these providers rely on standard contractual clauses.
6Your rights
You may ask us at any time, free of charge, whether we process personal data about you and which ones. You may also ask for incorrect data to be corrected, for data to be deleted, and object to processing. Write to ami.ch.admin@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you may complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch. If you live in the EU or EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation may also apply: the legal basis for the server logs is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), for e-mail it is answering your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR), and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
7Links to other websites
Links, for example to LinkedIn, lead to services with their own privacy policies. They receive data only once you click.
8Changes
We update this notice when the website changes, in particular before any application form, registration tool or visitor statistics are added. The current version is always on this page.
